Immersion

Last year Odessa tried something new. For the first time we offered a partial immersion event for participants who wish to partake. Unfortunately the weather proved to be a pain. But after many requests we are trying it again. Units who wish will be allowed to "Dig In" in an assigned area and be active from Friday until Saturday afternoon. Some of the details are as follows.

Participants: Any units who wish to partake in the immersion are welcome. These units will live in the field all weekend. They will remain on the line until Saturday morning when the general fall in is called before the battle. At this point they will be sent by their commanders to their positions for Saturdays battle. Note* This may or may not be their position on the line from Friday. This is the Commanders decision based on orders received.

Non immersion participants may also deploy during the Friday battle. They will be required to obtain orders from their commanding officers before entering the battle. These participants may enter or leave the battle at any time where as the immersion participants are always on the line.

MLR: There will be two established main lines of resistance set apart from each other. Units may create foxholes, gun emplacements or any appropriate arrangements with being on the front line. In between will be a no mans land controlled by neither side. Units may enter this area to determine enemy strengths, set up mine fields or observation points throughout the day and night of Friday. This will replace the normal Friday Day and Night battle. Maneuvers can continue throughout the night.

Orders: There will be specific orders during the immersion that each side will be required to fullfill. These are to keep the sides engaged throughout the day on Friday. Otherwise units are encouraged to act as their impressions would.

A few items that do need to be observed during the immersion. All participants must have registered and had their ammo checked prior to entering the immersion. Also we will be trying to limit the POV's entering near the immersion area as this detracts from the attempt.

There is to be no firing of weapons after 11pm on any night. There are residences unfortunately nearby and we do not wish to disturb them.

If you have any specific questions please contact us at the Odessaevent email.

We will continue to post items as we get closer to the event.
